Dayatva is a community service (social) initiative taken by the students of IITRAM, with a vision to provide free of cost quality education to those children who are highly deserving, yet are unfortunately lesser privileged. Team Dayatva, consisting of 36 student volunteers, has taken up the responsibility of teaching children from various government schools in Ahmedabad, on every weekend.
On Sundays, a batch of 214 students of classes 8, 9 and 10 come to the IITRAM college campus from the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation schools. Dayatva trains these students for the National Talent Search Examination (NTSE) and the National Means cum Merit Scholarship Examination (NMMS). Here, they are trained in various subjects like the Sciences, Social Studies, Mathematics, English, and Mental ability.
Along with the studies, Dayatva also arranges several motivational sessions, fun sessions, interactive and feedback sessions for the students to assure their overall development. A similar session was held for students recently in which they were taken to SSIP cell at IITRAM, showcasing them the startup of Rudrabots, thus giving them an edge on startups. The students also visited Learning and Resource Center (LRC) of IITRAM to get a different experience.
Apart from educating the society, Dayatva has taken many more initiatives namely – Dayatva Green, Dayatva Happiness, DAATSE, Mock NTSE, Walk to the Future, Gyanoday and Dayatva E-learning in order to do our part of job to develop a better society.
Consequently, Dayatva has gained immense appreciation and has achieved accolades such as the 'Young Contributors award, 2018', from the Government of Gujarat. 8 out of 15 students from the first batch of Dayatva qualified the NTSE 2018-19 Stage-1. Also, one of our students – Dipali Rajeshbhai Rathod secured 12 th rank in Ahmedabad in the NMMS examination; further, she secured the 15 th rank in Ahmedabad in the Secondary Scholarship Examination (SSE).
This is just the beginning of the responsibility which the students of the Institute feel towards the society. Many more milestones are yet to be touched, and many more visions are yet to be achieved.
